Have no room for failure - Group Chairman prods LSA staff

As group chairman, I fully identify myself with the mission statement. In addition, I am passionate about words like Excellence and Achievement.

We must have no room for failure in what we do and achieving the best results for ourselves should always be the only option. To those who under-performed in 2006, I therefore say, take a moment to reflect and if necessary seek help.

Together we can make a real contribution to the growth of our economy and we can do this by anticipating what tomorrow will look like and meet the challenges of tomorrow today with integrity. If each of us can adopt world-class standards, then everything we do and everything we are, belongs to the First World and it will mean that we are not average performers but high achievers.

Ultimately, I believe that our companies depend on those special people we call employees. I refuse to accept that we should create poor quality jobs as so often happens in Zambian companies. In the LSA Group of Companies, we must strive to ensure that the quality of employment must be as good as you can find anywhere in the world. Therefore, employees must be empowered to perform better and they must not be afraid to communicate ideas which will enhance our development or speak out about issues which will make our group a better place to be for all of us, themselves and ultimately their families.

Making profits is not the issue but creating wealth. If we make a profit it must be because we are successful at what we do in creating wealth. Wealth created is better, because more people participate in it directly or indirectly.
